A bullet is a bet. You set what a bullet is worth, and every shot takes that amount out of your balance. If a fish dies, you are paid its multiplier times the value of the bullet that killed it.
Each fish's multiplier is printed in the game's own paytable. Bigger fish carry bigger multipliers and take more shots to bring down — those two things are the same fact seen from either end.
Rooms are separated by stake. The minimum and maximum bullet value are shown before you enter, and choosing that room is the single most important decision you make in a fishing game.
Several players can be in one room at once. If somebody else lands the shot that kills a fish you were firing at, that fish is gone — but your bullets were not wasted in the sense of being ignored. Every shot is settled on its own.
How much of this is skill?
Worth answering plainly. There are real decisions in a fishing game — what to aim at, how big a bullet to load, which room to sit in. That is more input than a slot asks for, and it is why the games feel the way they do.
But whether a given bullet hits and whether the fish dies is decided by the game's random number generator, inside that game's RTP. Firing the same shot at the same fish twice does not produce the same result twice.
So skill can make you play better, and no strategy makes the game profitable. Stake what you can afford to lose.
